Poor reviews
It was directed by Jeremiah Chechik and starred Ralph Fiennes as Steed and Uma Thurman as Emma Peel. It was basically a
flop, with poor reveiws and poor returns. The general recommendation is not even to bother renting the video !
The plot
The general plot of the Avengers Peel movie is about two British agents (John Steed and Emma Peel), who team up (well there's a surprise!),
to stop Sir August De Wynter (played by Sean Connery no less) from destroying the world with a weather changing machine -
now this may sound a bit odd in view of Mr 007's previous influence and probably sums up the whole twisted production.
There is a lot of silliness in the Avengers Peel movie, in particular the conference meeting of the bears - where, in a beautiful but bare room, nine giant
teddy bears hold a conspiracy meeting. Two additional bears stand guard. The black bear in the middle soon removes
his head, revealing him to be Sir August de Wynter. The bears contain the head scientists of the Prospero Project.
When Sir August asks whether anybody would like to leave, two raise their hand and they are promptly murdered.
Steed and Mrs. Peel arrive soon after the meeting ends. In the Avengers Peel movie, they pursue the guard bears, one of which turns out to be
de Wynter's henchman Bailey, the other one being a clone of Emma Peel. Steed fights Sir August's henchmen in
a back alley whilst Mrs. Peel fights her clone on a rooftop.
Much later, Steed and Mrs. Peel come upon the remaining dead bears, as they search for Sir August de Wynter.

Goofs
By all accounts, the Avengers Peel movie was a poor film with several bad goofs including, towards the end of the movie,
the Westminster clock (AKA Big Ben) being destroyed by a lightning strike, then the very last shot of the film showing
a wide angle of Westminster where the clock tower is now remarkably restored - making this a poor Avengers Peel movie!
