Dame Definitive Diana Rigg DBE (born 20 July 1938)
born Enid Diana Elizabeth Rigg she is an English actress.
Diana was born in the South Yorkshire town of Doncaster, to Beryl Helliwell and Louis Rigg, a newspaperman who had
been born in Yorkshire. She lived in India between the ages of two and eight and then went to school at Fulneck in Leeds.

In her private life
She lived with Philip Saville for some time, but would not marry him (he was married already). She did marry
Menachem Gueffen, an Israeli painter, which lasted from 1973 to 1976 and Archibald Stirling, a theatrical
producer, former officer in the Scots Guards and a member of one of Scotland's grandest families, which lasted
from 1982 to 1990. By Stirling she has a daughter, Rachael Atlanta Stirling, who was born in 1977 and is also
an actress.

She rocked the boat a bit !
She was one of the first in acting to switch between television and stage. This was often criticized by many of her
contemporaries in the theatre as a waste of her talents. But in the end, she was a trend setter and many modern actors
now do the same.
She was (and occasionally still is) blunt and outspoken. Definitive Diana Rigg countered that the television to stage switch
was a new challenge for her and refused to be put down.
Diana was also
outspoken in her personal objection to marriage setting the trend for more modern living. But no matter how much
Definitive Diana Rigg's character, Emma Peel, personified the new, liberated woman and the evolving feminist movement of the late
60's, Rigg's remarks ground away at the comfort level of conservative, male, television executives. But she has prevailed
and is now looked upon with a degree of reverence in the way that she has helped to push the boundaries.
